Breast cancer risk factors for children, adolescents and adults young people are the following:
- -Previous treatment with radiation therapy to the breast or chest for another cancer, such as Hodgkin lymphoma.
- -Personal history of one of the types of cancer that sometimes spreads to the breast, such as leukemia, rhabdomyosarcoma, soft tissue sarcoma, or lymphoma.
- -Family history of breast cancer in parents or siblings.
- -Hereditary changes in the BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes or in other genes that increase the risk of breast cancer.
Cancer can spread in the body through tissue, the lymphatic system, and the blood (metastasis).
Signs and symptoms of childhood breast cancer
- 1.- Mass or thickening in or near the breast, or in the armpit or arm area.
- 2.- Change in the size or shape of the breast.
- 3.- Dimples or wrinkles in the skin of the breast.
- 4.- Nipple that sinks into the breast.
- 5.- Liquid, which is not breast milk, that comes from the nipple, including blood.
- 6.- Flaky, red or swollen skin on the breast, including the nipple or areola.
- 7.- Dimples on the breast that look like orange peel

Treatment of childhood breast cancer
Three types of standard treatment are used for breast cancer:
Surgery: It is done to remove the cancer, but not the entire breast; radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
Treatment for childhood breast cancer often causes side effects.
Sometimes childhood breast cancer recurs (comes back) in the breast or other parts of the body after treatment.
The treatment of children and adolescents with breast cancer should be planned by a team of doctors who are experts in the treatment of childhood cancer, mainly the pediatric oncologist.
