MORELIA, Mich., February 7, 2021.- In order to make timely detections of breast cancer in women from remote or difficult-to-access communities, the Ministry of Health of Michoacán (SSM), will deploy from February 8 to 12 its mobile mammography units.
A statement indicates that these units visit different communities every week to provide free service to Michoacan women between 40 and 69 years old and this week they will visit 7 municipalities and localities.
Thus, during the week of 8 to 12 they will be installed in Tarímbaro, Jiquilpan, Ocampo and Huiramba; 8 and 9 will be in the community of Villas de las Cañadas y Cañadas, in the municipality of La Piedad.
Thus from 10 to 12 it will be in the towns of Cañada de Ramírez, municipality of Numarán and El Manzanillal, belonging to Pátzcuaro; as well as in Numarán.
Detection through mammography is considered the most effective intervention for the early location of breast cancer, with an impact on reducing mortality.
It is important to mention that those interested who wish to receive the service must present a voter ID and / or CURP, shaved armpits, not use deodorant, perfume, talcum powder, or body cream, use face masks correctly and respect the sanitary measures implemented in each mobile unit.
The SSM encourages women to follow a balanced diet, maintain a healthy weight, not smoke, limit alcohol consumption and exercise regularly, to reduce risk factors for this condition.
