The investigator leads the proceedings brought to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw under general charges, the journalist informs. This procedure was initiated in March following an investigation by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration at Police Headquarters. The announcement was then submitted by the deputy head of the ministry, Marcin Kierwiński.
Unofficially: Szymczyk will face charges
According to the findings of the RMF, General Szymczyk is to appear at the prosecutor’s office on Monday. It is not known what specific charges he will face.
“However, the case is very controversial, because related to the explosion of a grenade launcher in his office, an investigation is also being carried out by a high-level unit – the Office of the Regional Prosecutor in Warsaw. injured party in these proceedings,” RMF reminds.
Explosion at Police Headquarters
Let’s remember that the explosion of a grenade launcher at the Police Headquarters took place on December 14, 2022. The equipment was supposed to be imported from Ukraine as a gift. However, it was not subject to limitations. After leaving the hospital, the police chief explained that the explosion happened when he was moving the grenade launcher from one place to another.
as follows from expert opinion received by the “Rzeczpospolita” every day shows that the grenade launcher was operational and armed. The expert also claimed that the bullet fired itself or as a result of an accident.
“It was fired by pulling the trigger” – we read in the published report of an expert from the Military Institute of Military Technology. This was confirmed by the prosecutor Jacek Mularzuk in an interview with the newspaper.
– However, the shot that was fired was not able to engage itself under the conditions of its firing, which led to the fact that the explosion of the explosive material inside it did not happen – explained the prosecutor.
