Breakthrough: Growing Artificial Skin with Organisms | Radboud University’s Method for Improved Medicines

About the episode

Scientists from Radboud University have developed a method that makes it possible to grow artificial skin containing the organisms that normally live on our skin. Until now, only sterile artificial skin could be made, an imperfect representation of reality. The team of Prof. Dr. Ellen van den Bogaard used an old Dutch solution for this: a dike made of glass. It is expected that this development will lead to better medicines for people with eczema and, for example, psoriasis.
