Despite the closed overtaking lane, a motorist wanted to overtake another car on a motorway construction site. There was an accident that fortunately had only minor consequences.
Of the accident occurred on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, shortly after 9.30 p.m. on the A3 near Schinznach-Dorf.
A construction site was set up there, and all traffic was directed onto the lane in the direction of Zurich. A 46-year-old motorist was traveling on the normal strip towards Zurich.
Despite signaled construction work and although oncoming traffic was rolling in the overtaking lane, the woman wanted to overtake a car in front. Her Volvo hit two oncoming cars.
Although the prohibited driving maneuver could easily have had other consequences, it remained with comparatively little sheet metal damage.
The Aargau canton police referred the 46-year-old to the public prosecutor and took away her driver’s license.
