Warner Bros. has just announced all his major cinema films next year, including Dune in The Suicide Squad, to be released simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max. With that, the studio is messing around with the traditional release schedule.
“These unprecedented times call for creative solutionsAnn Sarnoff, CEO of WarnerMedia Studios said in a statement.We can’t wait to see films on the big screen again, but the reality is that cinemas will have to run with a reduced capacity in the coming year“.

Larger share of turnover for cinemas?
This move from Warner Bros. logically has major consequences for cinema chains. That is why it is likely that the studio will demand a smaller fee per sold cinema ticket in the coming year. Insiders report to The Hollywood Reporter that this is also the case for Wonder Woman 84, the first film to be released under this new schedule.
International
HBO Max is currently only available in the United States. The streaming service is planned to be rolled out further in 2021, including in Spain. In the Netherlands, however, telecom provider Ziggo has an exclusive deal with HBO, but this does not concern the Max content. Countries without HBO Max will continue to follow the traditional release schedule.
