Last week Count Henrik (14) entered the ranks of the adults – then it was his turn to be confirmed. The confirmation itself took place in the Frederikskirken in Paris, and with that the parents Prince Joachim (53) and Princess Marie (47) broke a tradition spanning over a hundred years.
It is the first time Queen Margrethe’s (83) grandson has not been confirmed in Fredensborg Castle Church in Denmark. The tradition certainly goes back further than the queen’s time as regent – in fact, her father, King Frederik IX, was also confirmed here.
Despite broken tradition, the confirmation did not pass quietly, and the main character was admired – also on Instagram. Among other things, his older brother, Count Nikolai (23), has shared a photo from the big day.
“Family” the count wrote under the picture, followed by a heart.
As the text suggests, the picture shows the family gathered around the confirmand on the big day.
– The conflict is not over
The comments section is overflowing with well wishes and compliments.
“You have a lovely family. Congratulations on your graduation!” writes one, while others write:
“The best family. Good reason to be proud!”, and:
“It’s nice to see you together. Take care of each other”.
