Breaking state directives.

The supervisory teams at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance managed to arrest a mosque imam in the east of the capital, Riyadh, who collects cash and in-kind donations, breaking the directives of the state, which has long warned against donating or collecting donations in places other than their official places.

And it was proven that the imam exploited the mosque’s facilities, and the random construction of iron “hanger” that violates the system, and is devoid of any means for preserving the foodstuffs that are stored in it, in addition to violating the circulars issued by the ministry banning the collection of cash and in-kind donations except through official channels.

In its official statement, the ministry revealed that the supervisory teams edited and documented the incident, and referred it to the competent authorities in the ministry to complete the legal procedures against the violator.

At the end of its statement, the Ministry called on citizens and residents to cooperate with it in reporting any person who collects donations from employees of mosques by contacting the Beneficiary Services Center (1933), or communicating with the Ministry’s branches in the regions, stressing the importance of the citizen and resident’s role in achieving the Ministry’s message and its general goals.
