Russia said its defense system shot down the drone near Moscow. Russia accused Ukraine of being the main mastermind and called the attack an “act of terrorism”.
As reported by AFP, Tuesday (4/7/2023), initially two drones were shot down while flying in the New Moscow or Greater Moscow region, the area around the capital city of Moscow.
“Two drones were disabled by electronic warfare equipment,” Russia’s emergency services said in a statement to the TASS news agency.

Meanwhile, news agency reports Russia another, RIA Novosti, quoted the emergency services as saying the two drones were shot down near the village of Valuevo, which is in the New Moscow region. It also stated that the two drones fell into an ‘open field’.
Another drone, according to the TASS report, was shot down in the Kaluga region, which is about 190 kilometers from the capital Moscow.
According to initial reports, cited by TASS, the three drones were shot down while flying towards the capital Moscow.
TASS also quoted an anonymous source who said the three drones that were shot down were all fixed-wing drones.
TASS added that there were no casualties in the incident.
