A notable absence from Sporting’s selection yesterday was Matheus Reis. The left winger was dropped at the last minute due to injury – this was the “doubtful” player that Amorim highlighted the day before, due to “pain”. The Brazilian resented being touched during the work session at the Academy and did not even continue with the delegation to Minho.
In Barcelos, Amorim admitted that Reis could miss 2 more games. “I don’t think he’ll be fit for the next 2 games. We have to evaluate. It’s an important loss”, he acknowledged, at the press conference. Matheus reacted to the triumph on the net. “Proud, family,” he expressed.
