The Vilnius police confirmed that on Friday at 9:22 a.m. they received information about the damage to the installation during the previous night.

At the beginning of July, Navalny’s associates placed a replica of the prison near the Vilnius City Hall, trying to draw attention to the conditions of the Russian opposition leader’s imprisonment.
Navalny’s allies and supporters accuse Russian prison authorities of failing to provide him with adequate medical care and have expressed concern about his deteriorating health.
Navalny, who has previously published data on widespread official corruption and organized protests against Kremlin rule, was detained in January 2021 while returning from Germany, where he received treatment after a poisoning attempt by Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) agents.

In February of the same year, Navalny was sentenced to two and a half years in prison for allegedly violating the terms of the suspended prison sentence he was sentenced to in 2014, while receiving treatment in Germany. In March of the following year, he was sentenced to another nine years in prison for “fraud” and “contempt of court”.
He has served part of his sentence in the penitentiary, where he was placed for allegedly various violations of the internal rules of the prison, such as improperly buttoned clothes or not washing his face at a certain time.
