The members of the crew of the ship that finished in the lead, in addition to the helmsman Márton Józsa, Marcell Goszleth, Áron Németh, Csaba Adorján, Attila Józsa-Kovács, János Erőss Loránd and Áron Bagyó.
Márton Józsa said after the finish line in Balatonfüred: they had a good time at this year’s race, the whole team enjoyed the race. In advance, they expected a similar time of around five hours, but with a slightly stronger wind and fewer stops, there is still half an hour in the boat, he added.
The RSM led by Róbert Vándor took second place (5:30:16 h), while the Prospex-Delta Sailing Team led by Kristóf Kaiser (5:31:46 h) finished third.
According to the organizers, 2,532 sailors with 515 boats entered this year’s race around the lake. The good wind indicates that, due to the stormy weather in the morning, the entire field of the Kékszalag, which started at 11 a.m. and was postponed by two hours compared to the traditional 9 a.m. start, passed the Balatonkenes buoy before 3 p.m., and after 5 p.m. they also left the track mark in Siófok.
There was also an accident at the Balatonkenes buoy in the afternoon, Zsolt Király’s boat, the Raffica, capsized, and although the crew was not injured, they could not continue the race.
The Blue Ribbon is the longest sailing race around the lake in Europe, which was first organized in 1934.
The boaters have a 155-kilometer journey as the crow flies during the 48-hour level time. After the start in Balatonfüred, they pass through Balatonkenese, Siófok and the Tihany Strait, and return to Balatonfüred by turning at Keszthely. Due to the start being postponed by two hours, the competitors have until 11 a.m. this Saturday morning.
Last year, 456 of the 516 boats entered completed the Grand Prix.
The time record for the Kékzálag is still held by the Fifty-Fifty led by Márton Józsa, and Litkey Farkas won the most, thirteen times on the Kékzálag.
