We are grateful to our partners – the companies Fonbet and Winline, and the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation for the opportunity to implement this project.

Teams must apply for the round nine days before the start of the round. The bid for the tour will be completed with the players nominated for the season (25 players), and changes to the bid can be made at any time during the season. There is no transfer and signing deadline for hockey players.
The application for the season can include KHL team players on two-way or three-way contracts, unrestricted free agents over the age of 22, as well as hockey players who has passed the exemption list procedure.
KHL 3X3 Tournament Calendar
The regular season runs from December 2024 to June 2025, with 312 games played. Each of the 24 trips takes place over four days – from Thursday to Sunday. The tour includes four teams, meeting each other twice, and the rivalry is not limited to divisions: from the first round, the teams will be “mixed”. There are four games on Thursday, two on Friday, four on Saturday, and three on Sunday. Sunday’s program ends with the “Super Game” – with the participation of the two best teams based on the results of the round, in which the winner receives a cash prize of one million rubles. At the same time, the result of the game does not affect the format of the competition: points for winning are not given.
At the end of the regular season, the top three teams from each division advance to the Super Final, which includes a group stage and playoffs. The group stage is a single round robin competition, after which the top four teams advance to the playoffs. The final of the historic first season of the KHL 3×3 tournament is scheduled for July 13, 2025.
KHL championship 3×3 rules
KHL 3×3 championship games will be held on a special site measuring 34 by 18 meters with minimal use of markers: center line, center circle and goalkeeper areas.
The duration of each period is seven minutes of real time, the break between periods is only two minutes. Strong methods and fighting are prohibited; instead of an elimination, a penalty throw is used with a pursuit. The game has at least a face-off: right at the start of the period and after a goal has been scored. In the event of a tie at the end of regulation time, a series of drawings will be played to determine the winner.
Andrey Tochitsky, KHL Vice President for Hockey Operations:
“We have an interesting season ahead, in which the teams play almost every week. There are two stops in the calendar – for the Fonbet Week of Hockey Stars and the last series of the Gagarin Cup. This season, we will not only extend the KHL competition until the end of May, but we will also give the opportunity to follow our favorite game until the middle of July.
A historic partnership – hockey unites
For the first time in the history of sports events, two commercial partners of the same category will play in the KHL 3 × 3 tournament on equal status – the leaders of the Russian betting market, Winline and Fonbet. The divisions in the regular season were named after the participants of the competition – Winline Division and Fonbet Division.
Sergei Dobrokhvalov, KHL vice-president:
– The launch of the 3 × 3 tournament is a step in working with the younger generation, we offer dynamic, fast hockey, and it takes about 30 minutes to watch one game. The games will be held at South Ice near Moscow, and spectators will be able to attend the games, but our emphasis is on the digital environment. The league, clubs and active partners on social networks, attract and attract new audiences.
