Jan-Willem Brüggenwirth will leave immediately as general manager of FC Twente. The successor of Paul van der Kraan was appointed last summer at the club from Enschede, but according to TC Tubantia both parties have found out that it is ‘not a match’.
Club watcher Leon ten Voorde is not surprised by the departure of the 60-year-old driver. “With Brüggenwirth, FC Twente wanted to make a splash in the field of marketing and commerce, but there has never been a happy marriage,” the reporter said.
“From day one, the native from Brabant ran into the fact that he had no affinity whatsoever with football and leading a large club. Brüggenwirth has left the club immediately. FC Twente does not want to rush into the search for a successor. go,” said Ten Voorde.
