Bad Christmas surprise for the former employees of the Bègles stationery. The takeover project they have been carrying since the plant closed last March is not well underway. The owner of the site, the Belgian group Etex, has just broken off negotiations with them on Thursday 23 December.
Representatives of the Avenir Papeterie de Bègles association expressed their disappointment and their incomprehension in a press release. But they remain convinced that their project is the best, and remain mobilized until December 31, the date given by Etex to finalize their takeover file.
Breaking off negotiations does not mean excluding
Claude Duthil, the president of the association of employees is reassembled but not resigned. As long as the buyer is not definitively recorded, we continue to propose our project, he says, and he calls for the mobilization of politicians , the mayor of Bègles, Bordeaux Métropole, the president of New Aquitaine, all support us. We hope the politicians will be able to say, you may have excluded them a little too early
