Break World Record, Japan’s Internet Speed ​​Reaches 319 Terabit per Second

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – Joint researchers from the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) in Japan broke the world record for internet speed.

They claim that their internet speed is 2 times faster than the previous record.

In a statement, the NICT team admitted that they succeeded in creating internet transmissions at speeds of 319 Terabit per second (Tb/s). For your information, the previous internet speed record was at 178 Tb/s.

This new record is many times faster than the fastest home internet speed which is usually at 10 Gbps.

Quoted from Vice, Sunday (18/7/2021), NICT tested the internet speed in a laboratory using the most advanced fiber optic technology.

NICT relies on its existing 3,000 km fiber optic cable infrastructure. Then, the infrastructure is supported by a number of other technologies.
