They were targeting fire brigade equipment – unknown people broke into a total of three fire brigade houses in the Main-Spessart district on Saturday night.
Among other things in Aschfeld. The burglars pried open the door and stole various devices. Among other things, a hydraulic rescue kit – firefighters use this to free people from cars after an accident, for example. The loot damage is in the five-digit range.
The unknown people also climbed into the fire department’s equipment sheds in Karlburg and Wernfeld. They didn’t steal anything there – but they left a lot of property damage behind.
The total property damage is around 6,000 euros. The police are now investigating and are asking for information from witnesses – by calling 0931/457-1732.
Fire departments should be careful
Meanwhile, the Main-Spessart district fire brigade association is calling on all fire departments in the Main-Spessart district to check their fire brigades for possible signs of break-in.
