Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva criticized the choice of Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti to coach the Brazilian national football team.
And Ednaldo Rodriguez, President of the Brazilian Football Confederation, announced a few days ago that Carlo Ancelotti, coach of Real Madrid, will coach the Brazilian national team in the summer of 2024 before the Copa America.
Last Tuesday, the Brazilian Federation presented Fernandez Deniz as the interim coach of the Brazilian national team, and revealed that Ancelotti will take over the position of coach of the national team within about one year, to lead him in the 2024 Copa America.
Brazilian President Lula da Silva said in an interview with the Brazilian news channel SBT News: I love Ancelotti, but he did not coach the Italian national team. If he wanted to solve the problem of the Brazilian national team, why did he not solve the problem of the Italian national team, which did not even qualify for the last World Cup.
The Brazilian president said he supports coach Fernandez Diniz, who will continue to lead Fluminense while taking charge of the national team on an interim basis.
Lula da Silva (77 years old) added: I am a Deniz fan, I love his innovation and personality. It’s a good opportunity for him and I expect him to take advantage of it.
He continued: Deniz controls the dressing room. In football, the coach must control the team to do a good job.
The Brazilian president said that football in his country has been suffering from a decline in the quality of players in recent years.
He explained: The problem is not in Deniz, but rather the problem is that we do not have players of the quality that we had in other periods. The boys (players) leave our country at the age of 16 or 17 and return at the age of 36.
