The escape of a dangerous criminal causes the closure of schools
In the United States, a Brazilian man sentenced to life for the murder of his girlfriend escaped from a prison near Philadelphia, by going through the roof. The police are calling for the utmost vigilance.

US police stepped up efforts on Wednesday to find a Brazilian criminal considered dangerous after he escaped last week near Philadelphia in the northeastern United States, causing the closure of schools and many calls for the vigilance of the authorities.
Danelo Cavalcante, 34, was last seen on Monday evening, carrying a backpack and duffel bag, in CCTV footage of a botanical garden normally open to the public, but which remained closed on Wednesday, in the small town of Kennett Square, west of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Citing safety concerns, two area school districts also decided to close their schools to students on Tuesday, a decision confirmed on Wednesday. “You are facing someone who is desperate and who does not want to be caught,” warned Lt. Col. George Bivens, of the Pennsylvania State Police, while assuring that “the pressure” exerted on he “is working”.
He escaped through the roof
The man escaped Thursday from Chester County Jail, in the same area, where he was incarcerated after he was sentenced to life in prison on August 22 for fatally stabbing his former girlfriend in April 2021. According to the newspaper “Philadelphia Inquirer”, he escaped by climbing on the roof of one of the buildings of the establishment from one of the courtyards, a method already used last May by another prisoner.
According to the Chester County Prosecutor’s Office, which is calling on residents to lock their doors, watch their cars, property and stay vigilant, “hundreds of law enforcement officers are working around the clock at the help of helicopters, drones and canine units to locate the fugitive”. The federal police (FBI) and US customs patrols sent units to reinforce the hunt.
Rewards of 5,000 dollars have been promised by both justice and the police to help locate the Brazilian, black hair and beard necklace in the photo released by the authorities.
