Brazilian Football Federation Negotiations in Brasília with Ednaldo and Gustavo Feijó

There were meetings in Brasília this Thursday on the initiative of Ednaldo with Gustavo Feijó and the president of the São Paulo Football Federation, Reinaldo Carneiro Bastos, with the mediation of the president of the Chamber, Arthur Lira.

Ednaldo says that the opposition sought him out, and the opposition says that it was the president of the CBF who sought an agreement. The fact is that there was a sign of a possible agreement between the parties. According to the possible arrangement, he would not be a candidate for president, but he could serve in a position on the board, perhaps vice-president.

“When I was approached, it was with the aim of unifying. It was to unify the ticket and for it to be the winner, and by winning there would be no contestation as happened. Brazilian football needs peace. We have a strong group of federations”, said Ednaldo Rodrigues. “I’m having detachment.”

“He (Feijó) was approached by Ednaldo to compose. (Ednaldo) He said he has seven federations. He said there is space to compose, but he did not present a request. We will submit it to our group. We are waiting to evaluate whether he has seven federations “, said Flávio Zveiter. “You need to know if he has the seven federations”, added Feijó.

In the chess game of federations, Zveiter and Feijó claim to have 15 federations in their group, which would be a majority in the total of 27. Ednaldo says that he has well over seven and that he will only give up his candidacy depending on who it is the candidate.

What is certain is that, if the two groups are combined, there could be more than 20 federations. Therefore, it would make any other candidacy unfeasible as eight entities are needed to register a candidate, it would be a single ticket.
