Distributed in France by Spirit Beauties, the Brazilian brand of gin Amazzoni is distinguished by its three references.
A few weeks ago, a bartender competition, organized in Paris, allowed the professionals present to get to know the references of the Amazzoni gin brand, the first created in Brazil, in 2015. “A classic yet complex gin that blends authenticity and modernity by distilling botanicals never used before”exhibits its French importer-distributor for two years, Spirit Beauties, created by Alexis Vuong, previously working at Pernod Ricard.
“The French were way behind on gin; this is the leading category in Spain. They are starting to catch up. As with whisky, we find consumers who want to discover other products, and go further in their tasting experience”, notes Alexis Vuong. In a universe estimated at around 6,500 gins worldwide, and 400 in France, it relies on the many assets of Amazzoni to emerge in the network of prestigious cafés-hotels-restaurants, cocktail bars and wine shops.
Three gins
The London dry gin (42%) is therefore distinguished by its wide range of ingredients: juniper, maxixe, coriander, bay leaf, Brazil nuts, cocoa, cipo-cravo, pink pepper, lemon, mandarin, victoria regia. They are subject to separate macerations. Dried, they serve as fuel for heating the still. The Rio Negro (51%) has six times more juniper than its big brother. Its aromatic notes are much more powerful. Herbaceous flavors can be detected. Favorite for the Maniuara (38%), with a maceration of lemon and lemongrass, and an addition of sugar. Peppery notes, but also citrus notes, are to be identified during the tasting.
So many products to discover in cocktails: Amazzoni classic and tonic; Rio Negroni (Rio Negro gin, vermouth, Swedish Dolin liqueur) and Caipirinuara (Maniuara gin, lime, simple syrup) – recipes designed at the Drinks & Co bar, in the 8th district of Paris.
