Brazil Welcomes Five New FIFA Arbitration Panel Members in Historic Move

Brazil has five new names on the FIFA arbitration panel. From 2024 onwards, Rodrigo Pereira, 36 years old, from Pernambuco, and Rafael Klein, 33, from Rio Grande do Sul, will become part of the relationship, as field referees, Fernanda Kruger, 32, from Mato Grosso, and Maíra Mastella Moreira, 31, from Rio Grande do Sul. as assistant referees, and Diego Pombo Lopez, 35, from Bahia, as video referee.

Now with the FIFA badge, referees are available to work in international games. All new members of the team are coming off a standout season in 2023.

With the objective achieved, Rodrigo Pereira becomes the first FIFA referee from Pernambuco in 15 years, since Wilson Souza’s retirement in 2009.

Diego Pombo Lopez, who also acts as a field referee, was selected to the FIFA board as a video referee. He has appeared in seven games in Série A in 2023.

According to the entity’s website, Sávio Pereira Sampaio (DF) and Wagner do Nascimento Magalhães (RJ) are leaving the list of Brazilian field referees. There are 17 names from the country in total, in addition to 19 assistants.
