Singer Marilia Mendonca died in a plane crash. The plane she was flying crashed in one of the villages in the southeastern Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. Also among the victims is the artist’s uncle, her producer and two crew members. An investigation was launched to determine the causes of the crash.

She was going to a concert
Mendonca was due to perform at a concert on Friday night in the city of Caratinga, 12 kilometers from the crash site. A few hours before the accident, she posted a video on social media in which she showed how she was preparing to board a private plane.

The singer’s associates initially reported that Mendonca had survived the crash after information about the plane crash emerged. Television later showed a crashed plane near a waterfall in a mountainous area, and the authorities informed about the artist’s death.

Brazilian footballer Neymar tweeted: “I don’t believe, I don’t agree.” Singer Anitta, a popular Brazilian star, commented on the news of the artist’s death: “I can’t believe it.”
