Brazil this Wednesday, January 20, recorded 1,340 deaths from Covid-19, bringing the total number of deaths from the disease to 211,831, said the Ministry of Health.
The Government also reported 64,383 new cases of coronavirus, bringing confirmed infections to 8,638,249.
Brazil has the second highest number of deaths from coronavirus in the world, only behind U.S, and is third in the list of countries with the most infections. The state most affected by the pandemic so far is Sao Paulo, while the start of a vaccination campaign continues to suffer delays.
