Brazil records daily record of 751 deaths and totals 9,897 deaths

Today, Brazil has surpassed the barrier of 700 daily deaths associated with the new coronavirus, having recorded in the last 24 hours the record of 751 deaths, in a total of 9,897 fatalities since the beginning of the pandemic.

The figures were released today by the Ministry of Health, which announced that there are still 10,222 new ones infected in the last 24 hours, totaling 145,328 people diagnosed with covid-19.

The increase in the number of deaths in Brazil was 8.2%, going from 9,146 on Thursday to 9,897 today. Regarding the number of infected, the growth was 7.5%, from 135,106 to 145,328 confirmed cases.

Across the Brazilian territory, 24 of the 27 federative units in the country already have more than 1,000 cases of the disease. On Wednesday, it was 19.

São Paulo, the richest and most populous state in the country, remains the federative unit that concentrates the largest number of cases, officially accounting for 3,416 dead and 41,830 infected.

Globally, according to a report by the AFP news agency, the covid-19 pandemic has already claimed about 271,000 deaths and infected almost 3.8 million people in 195 countries and territories.

More than 1.2 million patients were considered cured.
