Brazil: Police indict Rafael Ramos for racial slur against Edenilson

Rafael Ramos, a Portuguese player for Corinthians, was indicted by the Brazilian police for racially slurring Edenilson, a footballer for Internacional.

The case dates back to May 15, when Edenilson accused the right-back of having called him “monkey” during the meeting between the two teams. The Portuguese footballer was arrested and released after Vítor Pereira’s club paid the bail.

Now, the Porto Alegre authorities have decided to indict Rafael Ramos for racial slur, and it will be up to the Public Ministry to decide the next step to take.

“The case was concluded by me and forwarded to the Public Ministry. The prosecutor will decide whether to proceed with the process, file or take some action”, said delegate Roberto Sahagoff, to Globoesporte.
