According to data from the 3rd Survey of the 2020/21 grain harvest, published by the Companhia Nacional de Abastecimento (Conab), Brazil is expected to reach 265.9 million tons of grains in the 2020/2021 harvest, with 9 million t (3.5%) more compared to the 2019/2020 harvest, and that the cultivated area increases by 1.6%, with a total of 67 million hectares.
Soybeans and corn represent 89% of grain production. In the case of soybeans, a 3.3% growth in cultivated area is expected, with a production of 134.5 million tons, making the country the world’s largest producer of oilseeds. In the case of corn, it is estimated that total production amounts to 102.6 million tons.
