The national flu vaccination campaign began this Monday in Brazil and is scheduled to last until May 31, according to the Ministry of Health.

The health entity indicated that, at this stage, the objective is to vaccinate at least 90 percent of those who make up the priority groups, made up of more than 81 million people.
Priority groups include children six months to under six years of age, people over 60 years of age, pregnant women, mothers, indigenous peoples, people with chronic illnesses, and those with a permanent disability.
In addition, health workers, public and private school teachers, security forces, professionals from the armed and rescue forces, truckers, collective transport workers, port workers, employees of the penitentiary system, adolescents and young people under socio-educational measures are added. as well as the population deprived of liberty.
In the case of babies and children, the Ministry of Health stated that those who have received at least one dose in previous years should only receive one injection this year.
To get vaccinated, according to the Brasil de Fato newspaper, it is only necessary for the person to bring “the SUS card and identity document to any Basic Health Unit (UBS) of the Unified Health System.”
