Brazil: All 62 passengers dead in Voepass plane crash (Video) – 2024-08-10 16:15:11

The 62 people on board the Voepass plane that crashed earlier today in the Brazilian city of Viñedo are dead, as the mayor announced that there were no survivors.

The twin-engine ATR-72 was flying from Cascavel, Paraná state, to Guarulos Airport in Sao Paulo. According to a statement from the Voepass company, 58 travelers and 4 crew members were on board the aircraft.

Videos broadcast on social media and television networks show the fatal plane spinning out of control and crashing into the ground.

Speaking at an event, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva asked those present to observe a minute’s silence in memory of the victims of the plane tragedy.

The aircraft took off from Cascavel-PR bound for Guarulhos airport, with 58 passengers and 4 crew. VOEPASS uses all means to support those involved. There is no word yet on how the accident happened or the current condition of the occupants.
