CARATINGA (BRAZIL) – A young priest was found killed, with his body set on fire, in the diocese of Caratinga, in the state of Minas Gerais, in Brazil. Father Adriano da Silva Barros, vicar pastor of the parish of San Simone, in Simonésia, he was 36 years old. He disappeared on the afternoon of the 13th. According to the agency Fides, his body was found partially burned near the city of Manhumirim, on the night of the 14th.
The diocese reports that the priest was stabbed to death: the hypothesis made by the investigators is that the priest was the victim of an armed robbery that ended badly. The alarm was raised by a farmer from Manhumirim who had seen the flames from afar. The funeral was celebrated on October 15th.
Manhumirim police, writes the information site Portalcaparao – arrested two suspects: one of them, a 22-year-old, has already confessed to the murder.
