Aegidienberg and Sankt Augustin also seem to be dealing with such a case. Not only financial damage for the seller, but also extremely nerve-wracking.
Furniture put down – never paid for
The furniture is spread around the house in Sankt Augustin. Apparently the supposed buyer has already put down all his household goods. “It’s been raining and rotting here for almost two months now”says salesman Dieter Bungers.
The purchase contract was signed at the end of June. And then it should go very quickly. The alleged buyer kept telling him that the money had to come at any time.
Keys before the money is handed over?
The alleged fraudster had already asked Dieter Bungers for the key to get into the house early. Fortunately, Bungers did not give it out and only allowed the furniture to be put down at the house. Nothing has happened since then, the money never came.
“The man looked very serious and personable”says Dieter Bungers. He has since withdrawn from the contract with the help of a lawyer.
Same scam in Bad Honnef-Aegidienberg
Sellers from Aegidienberg were less fortunate. Apparently they had to do with the same man, believes her lawyer Günther Raths from Bad Honnef. In good faith, his clients had already given out the key to put the furniture down.
The alleged buyer then first exchanged the locks on the grounds that it had been broken into. The sellers then stopped coming to their house.
In this case, the buyer had transferred about half of the money for the purchase. He did not pay the remaining amount.
Lengthy sales contract reversal
The only step left for the seller was to become a lawyer. Only with the help of a lengthy sales contract reversal could the alleged fraudster be sued by a bailiff – after a year and a half. The money paid was used for legal and clearance costs.
