A bystander who helped police officers and supermarket staff in South yesterday with an arrest was himself injured. According to the police, the suspect put up a lot of resistance.
The suspect was caught shoplifting in the Dirk van den Broek on Europaboulevard. Both police officers and shop staff suffered afterwards.
“A bystander who saw this happen helped the store staff, but was injured, we later heard,” the police wrote on Facebook. “Unfortunately, we have no longer met this helpful bystander and we do not know who this is.”
The police would like to write to the bystander and ask them to come forward.
