This year, the German Brewers’ Association (DBB) is increasingly focusing its prevention activities on the fight against drink-driving. To this end, the “Don’t drink and drive” campaign, which has been sponsored by DBB for 25 years, was revised. “No excuses” is the message with which the German brewers are targeting the young target group with a nationwide poster campaign and via social media this year. The federal government’s drug commissioner, Daniela Ludwig MdB, is the patron of the poster campaign.
The President of the DBB, Dr. Jörg Lehmann, presented the new motifs of the campaign at the federal press conference in Berlin. “We cannot and will not slack off in the fight against drink-driving. The German brewers stand for conscious enjoyment and responsible use of beer. Everyone needs to know that there are situations in life where alcohol just doesn’t fit, ”says Lehmann.
Numerous supporters
Numerous supporters of the campaign, such as the chairmen of the two Bundestag committees for food and agriculture as well as transport, made clear that increased awareness-raising about the risks of alcohol in road traffic is an important social and political concern. Representatives of the TÜV Association, the German Traffic Watch and the Association against Alcohol and Drugs in Road Traffic also attended the presentation of the campaign in Berlin.
With a total of over 5,000 billboards and over 20,000 city-light posters, a high reach of several hundred million contacts in German cities is to be created this year. In a first run in March 2020, the motifs could already be seen in Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt / Main, Hanover, Stuttgart, Bremen, Dresden and Munich, among others. A second round of the poster campaign will now follow in autumn.
