The hockey players of Bratislava Capitals will be strengthened from next season by forward Jamie Arniel and defender Luc Snuggerud. The club will once again perform in the transnational Ice Hockey League (IHL).

“I believe that both players will help us achieve our goals, Arniel worked at the IHL with good results and we will expect productivity from him, Snuggerud is an offensive tuner with good skating and a good pass,” said the club’s vice president Dušan Pašek.

Thirty-one-year-old Arniel was drafted in 2008 in the 4th round by the Boston Bruins, for which he played one match. He gained his experience mainly in the AHL, in which he played over 219 matches, and in the IHL, in which he has 304 matches played.

In the 2017-2018 season he was captain of the Dornbirner EC and in 2019-2020 he played the role of assistant captain in the HC Bolzano team. Bratislava Capitals comes to EC Bad Nauheim in DEL2, Germany. He has played 49 matches in the current season, scored 29 times and added 33 assists.

Twenty-five-year-old Snuggerud was drafted in 2014 in the 5th round by the Chicago Blackhawks. He started his career in the AHL, playing 65 games for the Rockford IceHogs, Syracuse Crunch and the Binghamton Devils.

Snuggerud also has experience from the Ice Hockey League, played 10 matches for HC Innsbruck TIWAG Die Haie and collected 6 assists. The Bratislava Capitals come from the Rytíři Kladno team with a balance of 12 matches, 2 goals and 8 assists.
