OLOMOUC. The Slovak goalkeeper of Olomouc, Branislav Konrád, has unpleasant memories at the end of the pre-season preparation. He did not finish the last match before the new season of the Czech extra league.
Seven minutes before the end, Petr Koukal, the striker of Hradec Králové, hit him unhappily and uncontrollably in the neck area. The match ended prematurely after the agreement of both captains.
The Slovak was rescued by paramedics on the bench for several minutes. He was taken from the stadium on a stretcher. He underwent surgery that night, but luckily no veins or arteries were affected.

Conrad received a deep blow from the match, his career was saved in the hospital. “I have cut some muscles in my throat. The most important one, the head lifter, was sutured to me at the hospital.
One week before the season, Olomouc lost its goalkeeper unit. Fortunately, only for three and a half months.
“When I told the doctors that my shoulder hurt, they told me that I could be glad that it was a member. If I got hit an inch lower, nothing that would make me cold hurt at all. In the end, then. it turned out quite well, “he added at the time.

In the fall, he wore a neck brace, underwent rehabilitation, and later embarked on lighter trainings. He returned to the ice exactly 112 days later. He faced 30 shots against České Budějovice, collected only once, moreover in weakening.
According to Olomouc coach Jan Tomajek, Konrád was an important figure in the victory: “What I think was important was the performance of Bran Konrád, who closed the gate today and seized the chances that the opponent created. That was the basis of our victory. ”
The opponent’s coach also agreed with him: “He gave a fantastic performance. After such an injury, it is good to see Bran back. We are glad that he is healthy and we congratulate the opponent on the victory, “said the coach of Motor České Budějovice Jaroslav Modrý.

Thanks to the victory, Olomouc scored in České Budějovice. They remain 10th in the score, Olomouc is just below them.
Konrad was one of the heroes of the summer Olympic qualification, where the Slovaks won a seat in Beijing. He caught all three matches in Bratislava and achieved great statistics: 1.35 goals collected and a success rate of 92.31%.
In 2018, an experienced goalkeeper also caught on to the Winter Olympics in Pyongyang, Korea. He completed two matches there, while in the opening he helped the Slovaks to a sensational turn from 0: 2 to 3: 2 against the Olympic selection of Russia, the later winner of the men’s tournament.
