“Brand’s Initial Plug-in Hybrid Lamborghini Revuelto Unveiled”

The plug-in hybrid successor to the Aventador has finally been revealed in a sharp orange color and with exactly the sharp design expected from the top Lamborghini. It was named the Revuelto and is the automaker’s first step towards the era of electric driving.

Despite the Volkswagen Group’s move to downsizing engines and turbocharging, the revuelto retains its naturally aspirated twelve-cylinder engine. Maintaining it was a big challenge, according to Maruizio Reggiani, former technical director of Lamborghini, who initially led the development of the Revolt.

The carmaker has already talked about the powertrain, so just briefly – the V12 engine has a volume of 6.5 liters and produces 825 horsepower and 725 Nm. Three electric motors work with it, each with 110 kilowatts, i.e. 150 horsepower. Two of them, each with a torque of 350 Nm, drive the front axle. The third, which will offer 150 Nm, is part of the gearbox.

The combined output of the powertrain is 1015 horsepower and the car accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds. It reaches 200 km/h in less than 7 seconds and continues to a top speed of over 350 km/h.

The car has a newly developed eight-speed dual-clutch transmission that sits behind the engine, rather than between the seats in front of it like its predecessor. In the middle of the interior there is space for a 3.8kWh battery, which allows you to travel up to 10 km on electricity. Its charging port is under the front hood, which suggests that the creators do not count on the fact that owners of the revuelto will charge anywhere other than at home in the garage.

The battery weighs 70 kg and is the biggest limitation in terms of electrical power. Its highest power is only 140 kW, i.e. 190 horses, and it is from the sum of the power of the battery and the engine that the automaker reached the combined number of 1015.

The Revuelto didn’t get pushrod suspension like the Aventador, but a more conventional vertical suspension of shock absorbers and springs along with trapezoidal suspension on both axles. According to Lamborghini’s current technical director Rouven Mohr, thanks to advances in chassis technology, this does not mean worse characteristics, and on the contrary, it has advantages in terms of space requirements.

As standard, the car gets rear axle rotation and active aerodynamic elements, such as a retractable rear spoiler. It goes without saying that the carbon structure and the bodywork are, however, how much the revuelto weighs in working order is not yet known; the car manufacturer only reported a dry weight of 1772 kg. With the cartridges and the driver, we can only estimate that it will fit in two tons.

As far as the interior is concerned, the display as an instrument panel and the other, serving as the infotainment user interface, are a matter of course. Instead of traditional levers under the steering wheel, everything is controlled on his shoulders, except starting. This has a button on the center tunnel under the red cap.

According to Stefan Winkelmann, head of Lamborghini, the first two years of production of the Revolt are already sold out. The automaker also stated that the successor to the Huracán model will receive a similar hybrid system. Instead of a twelve-cylinder, however, it should have a V8 with turbocharging.
