What a shock! What a tragedy! What a pointless death! The daughter of former NFL linebacker Brandon Short was gunned down in Pennsylvania on Monday. Short confirmed the death of his 26-year-old daughter Karli on social media, where he wrote: “My heart is broken. I have lost the light of my life, my eldest daughter Karli died this morning from a senseless act of armed violence”.

“The love she had was so pure and true,” Short continued online. “The world has lost a wonderful soul. Thanks to everyone who came forward, and please include our families in your prayers as we go through this difficult time,” the NFL star tells his fans.
Allegheny County police said in a statement according to People magazine that a woman was found at 10:32 am on 25th Street in McKeesport with a bullet wound to the head. She was pronounced dead on the scene, police said. An investigation has been initiated, so far there should be no suspect (s). The perpetrator is therefore still at large.

Brandon Short was a linebacker at Penn State University before being drafted by the New York Giants in 2000. He spent four seasons with the Giants and then moved to the Carolina Panthers for two seasons. In 2006, he returned to the Giants for his final NFL season. He has been a member of the Penn State Board of Trustees since 2018. As a college football player, he was named Citrus Bowl MVP and All-American in 1998.
“On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and relatives of Karli Short, the daughter of Brandon Short, on her death,” wrote the Chairman of the Board, Matthew Schuyler, in a statement according to “People” . Penn State University President Eric Barron also sent his condolences to Short and his family in a statement, writing: “Our condolences go to the family and friends of Brandon Short and Karli Short at this difficult time.”
