According to the initiators, the “Provinziale” film festival in Eberswalde (Barnim) has around 2,000 visitors, which is as many guests as before the corona pandemic.
A highlight of the film festival was the premiere of RBB’s new Police Call 110, which was filmed in the festival town of Eberswalde. The festival ended after a week with the awards ceremony. A total of 12,000 euros in prize money was awarded.

Four competitions – two prizes each
At the festival, two audience prizes were awarded in four competitions: a thistle for the most relevant genre contribution and a rose for the strongest emotional appeal. In the animation competition, the rose went to the film “Loup y es-tu?” (“Where are you, Mr. Wolf?”)
from France, the thistle for “pig” from the Netherlands. In the short fiction category, the film “Na Zywo / Live” from Poland received both Rose and Thistle.
Jury prize for the topic of sustainability
In the short documentary competition, the rose went to the film “Marx Stops” from Germany, the thistle went to “Fata Morgana” from Germany and Syria. In the documentary category, “I am fine but” from Germany received the rose and the film “Gerlach” from the Netherlands received the thistle. The jury prize for the most successful approach to sustainability went to “Pig” from the Netherlands.
