About the Gateway to the Gorce project
As part of the investment – between Długa Polana in Nowy Targ and Waksmund – a huge complex was built, including: a treetop path and an educational center. Construction of the complex began in 2020. The investor is a company of the same name, i.e. Brama w Gorce, which was established by 80 residents of Waksmund. The facility was built on the land of the forest community of Waksmund. The facility was opened for tourists on April 30, 2023.
The Gate in the Gorce Mountains is intended to make it possible to discover the natural values of the region, but also to protect an area of special natural and landscape importance, which has been degraded so far – this was the assumption of the project.
Educational and Nature Center Brama w Gorce – attractions
Educational and Nature Center Brama w Gorce, as the full name of the facility, is intended primarily for those who enjoy active recreation in contact with nature. The investment allows you to enjoy discovering the local natural and landscape attractions of the Kowaniec stream valley. At the same time, it is educational in nature – it allows you to expand your knowledge of the natural, cultural and historical nature of the region.
The biggest attraction of investment is the only treetop path in Podhale, running, among others, on the Mały Kowaniec stream. Here you can meet the Gorce nature and take a walk the longest observation gallery in Poland, as well as climb two towers (at a height of 35 and 17 m)discover wealth underground nature of the Gorce Mountains in a 40-meter tunnel. There is also an interactive exhibition in the nature and educational pavilion.
A playground, a Gorce beehive that allows you to explore the secrets of the life of bees, a forest slide, a shepherd’s hut and an enclosure with fallow deer are an interesting addition to this place.

Gate to the Gorce Mountains – price list
A normal ticket costs money PLN 65. Reduced ticket (children aged 3 – 14, people over 65, disabled people and their guardians) – PLN 50. Family ticket 2+1 (price for a family consisting of 2 adults and 1 child up to 14 years old) – PLN 140. Family ticket 2+2 (price for a family consisting of 2 adults and 2 children up to 14 years old) – PLN 180.
Family ticket – additional fee for the 3rd and next child in the family up to 14 years of age (price for 1 person) – PLN 40.
Children up to 3 years old have free entry.
For organized groups (from 15 people) – the ticket costs PLN 50 per person.
Last entry to the Gate is at 5:00 p.m. The path has been designed to be easily accessible for strollers and disabled people.

The Brama w Gorce Nature and Educational Center can be reached in 20 minutes by car or 30 minutes by bike from Nowy Targ.
The new center can be accessed from Długa Polana in Nowy Targ, as well as from the village of Waksmund.
