It has already been reported that Brainstorm will start a concert tour Year without calendar sWednesday, July 23, in Jelgava. The concerts will take place in five Latvian cities – on July 23 in Jelgava, Lielupe meadow opposite Jelgava Castle, on July 30 in Valmiera, in Dīvaliņa meadows, on August 6 in Daugavpils, at the Lokomotive stadium, on August 13 in Ventspils, Renķas garden, and on August 20 in Riga, Mežaparka On the big stage.
About the song A year without a calendar Asnate Rancāne says: “The song was written at a time when everything happened remotely and darkness seemed to break in through all the cracks. Moments when Daughter of the nation and Brainstorm wrote their joint album songs in the studio, it was like an oasis where we refreshed ourselves and where new friendships and a new duet flourished. We were at Ingara Viļuma’s house in the studio when I sang the last lines of the song Where God’s sleigh slides. After recording this song, Renard told me to try another song. Something so warm and happy arose in our common sound that the song became a duet and later also the title song of the entire album. A year without a calendar is not a song only about the time of the pandemic. The lyrics so aptly remind us that we can touch and lift each other just like a phone call. Sometimes a good conversation with a friend puts the values on the shelves, and the world starts spinning more meaningfully again.”
In all concerts as a special guest before Brain storms Jānis Šipkēvics will perform with his solo project Shipsea, to tell the story of his experience in a musical language rich in contrasts together with a strong group of accompanying musicians.
Brainstorm included in the concert program both the tunes of the band already loved by the listeners, as well as the new album A year without a calendar songs. Kaspars Roga and Ainars Pastars take care of the visual concept and scenography of the stage of the concert tour (Company NA), which will be complemented by magnificent light and video effects created by the best lighting directors and video artists.
“The first concert is very close! We will have five summer evenings together with friends and loved ones. No rehearsal can replace the big stage, so this concert tour, the reunion with our listeners is a very exciting moment for us. It will be one inspiring sing-along!” it’s the band that defines the tour Brainstorm.
