In the video, a narrator can be heard explaining how Pager can play the Pong game on the computer with his brain. He said two Neuralink devices were implanted in Pager ‘s brain about six weeks ago.

The 9-year-old monkey was initially taught how to play the game Pong using a joystick to move the cursor on a computer. As a reward for success, he will be given banana juice.

He explained that Pager had installed a device called Link in his brain. The device, which has more than 2,000 tiny wires connected to the brain’s motor cortex, recorded the monkey’s brain neurons activity as it played games.

These recorded data are then sent to an algorithm decoder, which then predicts Pager’s hand movements in real time. After being calibrated, Pager was immediately able to use it to move the cursor using his brain.

Before being installed in monkey brains, Neuralink tested the technology on three pigs in August 2020. The company hopes the technology will be used in humans to increase the speed at which information flows from the brain to the machine.
