Bradley Beal has been a potential trade candidate for years. According to a report, the star of the Washington Wizards is now actually considering a change of scenery. Time is of the essence and everything could go very quickly.
Like Jake Fischer (Bleacher Report) reports, Beal is actually supposed to be considering a trade. But time is running out. If something happens, it will probably be before the draft so that the wizards can plan their future. In the past, Beal has never tire of saying he’d love to play in Washington, but that mind may have changed now.
One factor behind Beal’s loyalty was the wizards’ willingness to build a team that can go far in the playoffs. In the past four years, however, the capitals did not win a single playoff series and only achieved a positive balance once.
In the past season, the Wizards finished the season in eighth place and qualified via the play-in tournament for the postseason, which was over after five games against the Philadelphia 76ers. If there is a trade, then optionally only for a contender. Fischer named the Boston Celtics, Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat and the Philadelphia 76ers.
After the elimination against the Sixers, the three-time all-star initially kept a low profile about his future: “I’m in control. People can report what they want, but I know what I’m thinking and it doesn’t come out of their mouths. There will be rumors, I’ll be prepared for that, “said Beal.
The 28-year-old is under contract in Washington until 2023 and will collect around $ 71.8 million by then. However, next summer, Beal could step out of his contract and forego his $ 37.3 million player option. The third pick from 2012 could also sign a contract extension that could bring him $ 181.5 million by 2026.
