Movie star Brad Pitt has sold his production company Plan B Entertainment to French media company Mediawan. The French had, according to the economic newspaper Financial Timesover 285 million euros left for Plan B.
Pitt founded Plan B about twenty years ago with his then-wife, Jennifer Aniston. The company produced three films that won the Academy Award for Best Picture: The departure, Twelve Years a Slave in Moonlight. Also, the company is known for movies like The big short and produced the film Blonde on Marilyn Monroe which appeared on Netflix this year.
Mediawan was born in 2015 and had with Netflix series Call my agent – about a French agency representing actors – his greatest success. In recent years, the company, led by French billionaire Xavier Niel, has already made several acquisitions in Europe. Plan B is the first purchase in the United States.
