A US judge has sentenced actor Brad Pitt to joint custody of children in divorce proceedings with Angelina Jolie, although the “Mistress of Evil” star wants independent custody.
The decision was made by retired judge John Wooderk, who is considering the divorce case privately to avoid publicity. It affects five of the couple’s six children – the eldest Maddox is now 19, but can be appealed in state court.

Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt in 2016 after two years of marriage, days after a sharp conflict arose between them during a flight of the family and their children from France to the United States. She accused him of abusing their then-15-year-old son, Maddox, but an investigation by the FBI and child protection service ended without the actor being charged.
