Although nowadays we are used to assigning skirts to women’s wardrobe, it was not always so. The origin of the skirt probably goes back to prehistoric times, to the first phase of the life of early man, where this garment was not yet differentiated for men or women.

Another appearance of the skirt in history can be found among the Egyptian pharaohs. Today, most people think of a kilt when they think of a men’s skirt. This part of the traditional Scottish men’s costume is made of a woolen checkered fabric called tartan, the patterns of which are very often associated with individual Scottish clans.

It was kilts that served as a source of inspiration for many designers to create new collections. Although men’s skirts have appeared on the catwalks to a small extent in the past, this year they literally burst into flames.

They were seen, for example, at the Fendi or Etro house show. They also got a lot of space at the Louis Vuitton show, where they appeared in all possible lengths. Even celebrities have fallen in love with the new trend.
