Brad Binder finish the race MotoGP Thailand 2023 in second place. However, a foul on the last lap dropped him to third place.
Binder started the Thailand MotoGP race at the Buriram Circuit on Sunday (29/10/2023) from sixth position. Team riders Red Bull KTM it then shot to second behind Jorge Martin.
Fierce competition occurred before the end of the race. Martin was under pressure from Binder and Francesco Bagnaia behind him.
Binder briefly overtook Martin, but his opponent regained first place. He ended up 0.11 seconds behind the victorious Martinator MotoGP Thailand 2023.
Brad Binder ahead of Bagnaia who reached the finish line in P3. Disaster struck Binder when the official announced he had committed a violation on the last lap.
MotoGP said Binder crossed the green track limit when he slipped at Turn 4. The South African racer was also sanctioned with a reduction in ranking from second to third. As a result, Pecco Bagnaia was declared runner-up in the 2023 Thailand MotoGP ahead of Binder.
Binder spoke about the results he achieved at the Buriram Circuit. He admitted that he had tried his best on the last lap when his rear tire was worn out.
“I tried my best today and didn’t leave anything behind. I wanted to keep as many tires as I could while behind Jorge,” said Binder, quoted from the official Red Bull KTM team website.
“I saw the opportunity and tried to go but one lap later my rear tire went out. We did what we could. My team did an incredible job and I’m sure the win will come,” he explained.
