Sports cars are no longer enough. BRABUS is joining the heavy hitters and is entering a new, luxury segment with the BIG BOY 1200. Fancy the BIG BOY? The big thing from BRABUS costs 1.5 million euros. The motorhome, which is based on the Mercedes Actros, has over 30 square meters of elegant living space over a length of 12 meters. It has two electrically extendable slide-outs on each side, which can expand the bedroom and salon to a width of 4.50 meters. Hydraulically extendable supports level the vehicle and ensure that the BRABUS BIG BOY 1200 stands securely on any surface. A door with electrically extendable steps on the right side of the saloon makes it easier to get in and out of the living area.
Two extendable modules in the sleeping compartment offer space for the transversely positioned double bed measuring 160 x 200 centimeters. A large wardrobe is integrated into the back wall of the motorhome. A desk and a 43-inch 4K television are installed in the side wall opposite the bed, which can be used like an identical device in the salon for watching TV programs or gaming on the integrated Playstation 5 system. Thanks to satellite internet via Starlink, passengers can use streaming services, access content from the internet or communicate with the whole world even in remote areas.
In the living room of the BRABUS BIG BOY 1200, owners and guests find space on the two sofas covered in the finest gray BRABUS leather, which, like the seats in the driver’s compartment and the door panels, are quilted with millimeter precision in the BRABUS “Triangle” design. As a tasteful contrast to the gray used not only in parts of the interior as well as in the high-quality carpeting, other areas are made of black precious wood or Alcantara, which is also dyed black. Carbon trim strips add distinctly sporty accents throughout the interior.
A modern kitchen with an induction hob, oven, dishwasher and spacious refrigerator with freezer compartment is also integrated into the salon. There is also a separate wine fridge and coffee machine for drinks. The sofa placed opposite the kitchen can become part of an elegant dining room together with designer chairs upholstered in black and gray fabric and a large black table. This ensemble can also be used as a comfortable workstation in a mobile office. Of course, between the sleeping and living compartments there is also a luxurious bathroom made of fine natural stone with a rainforest shower, toilet and sink.
Depending on the season and needs, automatic air conditioning and an auxiliary heater ensure pleasant temperatures throughout the motorhome. Depending on the location where the BRABUS BIG BOY 1200 is parked, both systems can be powered via plug-in or on the go using the eight solar panels on the roof and the energy storage on board.
The driver’s cab with two separate doors has two comfortable seats covered in gray BRABUS Masterpiece leather. These are not only stitched in the BRABUS “Triangle” design, but are also precisely perforated. An electrically lowerable, 160 centimeter wide bed is installed directly above the cockpit. Curtains shield the cockpit from the outside world and the saloon.
From the outside, the BRABUS BIG BOY 1200 impresses with its impressive king-size format and its elegant, black exterior. The brand-typical look also includes the illuminated BRABUS logo in the visible carbon radiator grille. The side wind deflectors, the covers for the fog lights and the handles for opening the front hood are made from the same high-tech compound. Matching the main headlights, the additional headlights and taillights fixed to the BRABUS roof lamp bracket also work with LED technology.
Of course, an exclusive BRABUS Motorhome also includes a powerful engine. The 12.8 liter six-cylinder turbodiesel produces 390 kW / 530 hp and generates a maximum torque of 2,600 Nm. The top speed of the BRABUS BIG BOY 1200 is limited to 90 km/h.
The three-axle chassis with double twin tires at the rear is designed for excellent comfort and safe handling. In order to always maintain an optimal overview of the vehicle, the motorhome is equipped with a 360 degree camera monitor system.
