Just before returning to the Netherlands, the shepherd Power of sniffer dog group Signi from De Rips found a living victim under the rubble in Turkey on Thursday night. Bergers were then able to get to work to free the victim of the earthquake, De Telegraaf reports.
Various media report that four people have been found alive eleven days after the earthquake in southeastern Turkey. On Thursday evening, a 12-year-old boy was found in Hatay province, among others, according to the Turkish news agency Anadolu.
Emergency notification
Later, around 12 am, the volunteers of the Signi group, who had traveled to Turkey last Saturday, received an emergency report that noises had been heard at a collapsed building in the center of Hatay city.
“We came with Power, our experienced hand,” says Esther van Neerbos of Signi Search Dogs the newspaper. The Malinois crossbreed indicated a spot, which was confirmed by heating equipment. “There was contact through tapping sounds and moans.”
Earlier this week, Signi announced that thirty bodies had already been removed from under the rubble. Ten more have been added in recent days.
