Modern man has long since been cleared up because of sheer education, but he firmly believes in one thing: money. If he no longer believed in it, our system would collapse. The two cabaret artists Christoph Süß and Christian Springer try to find out where the belief in money comes from.

In the first episode of the three-part series, which will be broadcast from Monday, April 6th to Wednesday, April 8th, at 10 p.m., they go to one of the most important trading centers of pre-Christian times, Petra in Jordan. There, at one of the most famous places of sacrifice in history, they find out what money, faith and sacrifice have in common.

The second episode goes to Italy, because that’s where banking was invented. Springer and Süß are also researching what money means for society. In Rome they learn that the introduction of money had a democratizing effect.

The last episode goes back to Germany and home, namely to Upper Bavaria. There, the cabaret artists take a look at whether and how regional currencies, such as those in Chiemgau, can work. Then they go looking for the really big money and go to Frankfurt, where the federal gold is – supposedly! Because they don’t get to see it …
