The 58th Hof International Film Festival kicks off next Tuesday (October 22). Bayerischer Rundfunk (VR) is not only a media partner of the festival, but also shows three productions, as the broadcaster announced on Thursday in Munich. The Hof Film Festival, founded in 1967, is considered the most important German film festival after Berlin and Munich and a springboard for young directors – such as Wim Wenders and Tom Tykwer. This year they will last until October 27.
The three BR productions include the premiere of the third “Polizeiruf 110” by Johanna Wokalek entitled “Beyond the Law”, which is set in an amateur porn scene. The program “Polizeiruf 110” will be shown on television at the end of 2024. Also in the premiere is the documentary “Iced Aged”, which is dedicated to the world championship in amateur figure skating for men and women aged 50 to 80 in Oberstdorf. The third production is the docudrama “Thirty Years at the Whip” about a dominatrix in Berlin by Rosa von Praunheim.
On Thursday next week (October 24th), the “New German Cinema Promotion Award” will be presented by Bavaria Film, BR and DZ Bank as part of the Film Days in the Hofer Freiheitshalle. (00/3094/10/17/2024)
